01. Why one link is all you get
Instagram's design gives every profile a single website field, and that's the only clickable link you get. Links typed into captions, comments, or DMs render as plain text, deliberately. The platform wants attention to stay inside the app, so outbound links are rationed to one per profile. TikTok, YouTube, and X work the same way. This isn't a bug you can work around with formatting tricks; it's the rules of the platform.
02. The standard fix
Since you only get one link, you make that one link do the work of many: point it at a link-in-bio page, a simple page that holds all your destinations. One URL in the bio; behind it, your shop, your latest video, your booking page, your newsletter signup, your other socials. When you have something new to promote, you update the page, not the bio. Your Instagram bio link never changes again.
03. Do it in 3 steps
- Claim your page. Sign up for a link-in-bio tool and pick your username. On CWAXX that gives you cwaxx.com/username, free, no credit card.
- Add your links. Add each destination with a clear label: "Shop the collection" beats "Link 3." Add your bio line and your other social accounts while you're there. If you're coming from another tool, CWAXX imports from Linktree, Beacons, Taplink, Later, bio.link, Lnk.Bio, and Stan in one click.
- Paste the URL in your bio. In Instagram, go to Edit profile and put your page URL in the website field. Done: one link in the bio, everything behind it.
The whole thing takes about five minutes. And because the page is separate from Instagram, the same URL works in your TikTok bio, your YouTube about section, and your email signature.
04. Picking the right tool
Any link-in-bio tool solves the one-link problem; they differ on what happens after. Three things worth checking before you commit:
- Is the free plan honest? Some tools give you the page free and charge to see your own analytics. Check what "free" actually includes.
- Do you get analytics? Clicks per link at minimum, otherwise you'll never know which link earns its place. Referrers and geo are worth having.
- Can you leave? If a tool lets you import from competitors (and export your data), you're a customer, not a hostage.
CWAXX's answer to all three: the free plan includes clicks per link, referrers, countries and cities, and device analytics; one-click import works from the major tools; and CSV export of your data is available on Premium. No credit card to start.
05. FAQ
01Can I add multiple links directly in my Instagram bio?
No. Instagram gives you one website field, and links typed into captions or comments aren't clickable. That's exactly why link-in-bio pages exist: one URL in the bio, unlimited destinations behind it.
02Is using a link-in-bio page against Instagram's rules?
No. It's the standard, expected setup: Instagram even shows link stickers and bio links as normal features. Millions of creators and businesses do exactly this.
03Do I have to pay for this?
No. Free link-in-bio tools exist, including CWAXX: up to 10 links, your bio, social links, and full analytics (clicks per link, referrers, geo, devices) with no credit card.
04Does this work on TikTok and YouTube too?
Yes. TikTok, YouTube, and X all have the same one-link constraint in bios, and the same fix applies: one link-in-bio URL works everywhere you paste it.
